Eindelijk is het zover, het nieuwe PS Plus lanceert deze week. Eerst is Azië aan de beurt, wij volgen later. Daardoor komt nu wel steeds meer content voor de dienst boven tafel. Zo zijn er nieuwe PS1 en PSP games bekend geworden die naar PS Plus Premium gaan komen.

Update - De volledige lijst onthuld

Inmiddels is duidelijk hoe de volledige lijst eruit komt te zien in Azië. Dat wil nog niet gelijk zeggen dat al deze games ook naar Nederland en België komen, maar vermoedelijk is de overlap enorm groot. Deze games zitten vermoedelijk in de Classics-catalogus die alleen voor PS Plus Premium-gebruikers beschikbaar is.

Het is zover: het vernieuwde PS Plus wordt eindelijk gelanceerd. Deze week is Azië aan de beurt, wij volgen over een kleine maand. Sony is achter de schermen al volop bezig de lancering voor te bereiden en zo nu en dan zijn er al wat details zichtbaar. Sony zelf presenteerde vorige week al een deel van de line-up voor PS Plus Extra en PS Plus Premium en dankzij oplettende Resetera gebruikers uit Azië kunnen we daar weer twee games aan toevoegen.

Via de PlayStation Store in Azië is namelijk te zien dat PS1 game Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee en de PSP game Ridge Racer 2 beschikbaar zullen komen. Oddworld en Ridge Racer 2 voegen zich bij de lijst aan PS1/PSP games die al bekend was:

Steeds meer details vernieuwde PS Plus bekend

Nu de lancering van het nieuwe PS Plus steeds dichterbij komt, worden er ook steeds meer details bekend. Zo weten we inmiddels ook dat de emulatie van PS1 en PSP games meer is dan het eenvoudig werkend krijgen van de games. De emulatie heeft opties voor het weergeven op beeldverhoudingen van 1:1 en 4:3 en zelfs 16:9 of 16:10.

Er zijn filters voorzien waarmee je bijvoorbeeld een CRT beeldscherm kan emuleren, wat veel retro-fans blij zal maken. Ook kan je gebruik maken van save states. We weten inmiddels dat sommige PS1 games trophies zullen krijgen. Dit is wel optioneel, niet elke PS1 game zal daarvan voorzien zijn. De emulatiesoftware lijkt flink wat extra toeters en bellen mee te nemen.

De komende dagen zal er zeker nog veel meer bekend worden over het nieuwe PS Plus.
